Supplier Diversity Policy Statement
The Council on Black Health’s mission is to develop and promote solutions that realize healthy black communities. We are a Black-led and Black-empowering network of experts that integrates global perspectives, data, and research, and lived experience to create actional strategies. At the Council on Black Health, supplier diversity is directly tied to our mission and who we are. We are committed to creating mutually beneficial business relationships with diverse suppliers that strengthen the communities in which we operate. We understand the positive impact of partnering with diverse suppliers has on increasing their business presence and on our ability to improve the economic health of diverse communities. Our primary goal is to provide equitable access to opportunities for businesses owned by individuals that have been historically underrepresented or underutilized.
It is the policy of Council on Black Health when acquiring goods and services, we will primarily target Black business enterprises. We understand the intersectionality of Black business with other diverse groups and welcome the opportunity to assist women-owned, minority-owned, veteran-owned, disabled-owned, LGBTQIA+-owned, and small businesses to further expand business opportunities and enhance continued economic growth. We will expect our strategic suppliers to adopt similar strategies of inclusion.
It is our objective to make supplier diversity a business strategy within the Council on Black Health’s operations. This objective coincides with our fundamental belief of quality, value, and timeliness of goods and services acquired through diverse suppliers. This policy statement reflects Council on Black Health’s desire to create opportunities for diverse suppliers that promote long-term permanency and disrupts structural and systemic oppression.
